People have asked how stacking works and exactly what stacking is... Well here is my best shot at explaining it...
London Drugs is the only Store in Canada that allows "true" stacking... the Loblaw chain of companies also allow a form of it at some stores but not all....
Stacking is using multiple coupons towards the purchase of a single item (or group of items). Above is a picture of a stack... it is actually a group of items, as the first 2 coupon require you to actually purchase 2 items to save the money....
The first to coupons show are SAVE $3 When you purchase 2 of the following items..... So I chose to stack for Tide and Downy.... I then gathered ALL my Tide and ALL my Downy coupons.... you will notice each coupon is different, whether it be different in appearance or simply have different Coupon codes (UPC's)... that is a requirement for stacking at London Drugs.
In combining all these coupons, I am able to save $13 on the purchase of one 52 loads or larger and any Tide Laundry Detergent.... Combine this with sales and Price Matching the Competition... you could walk out paying only the GST(HST) for your Tide and Downy....
In regards to Loblaws.... Some stores, NOT ALL... allow you to use COUPON ZONE COUPONS and Manufacture coupons towards the purchase of a single item.... This can be extremely beneficial... especially because they tend to have the lowest everyday/sale prices available.... So try your store, try different Cashiers.... I have attempted to get clarification on this from Loblaws, and all I got was... it is a case by case thing... read the back of the coupon zone coupon, ... it might say only one, but it might not... try it either way.. see what works and what doesn't... When it comes down to it.. the Coupon Zone coupons are STORE discounts, and the manufacture coupons are reimbursed by the manufacture, so it really be A-OK.
This is the response I got from London Drugs in regards to their stacking and Price Matching Policies:
Thank you for you taking the time to contact us with your inquiry in
regards to our coupon policy.
Our coupon policy is as follows:
We do not price match with retailers who require you to have a club card
to receive that price ex: Shoppers, Save On, Safeway, Costco etc.
The following coupons may be accepted at London Drugs:
* Manufacturer's standard coupons
* Manufacturer's coupons exclusive to London Drugs
* London Drugs issued coupons
Number of coupons accepted:
* More than one coupon may be accepted for a product, if each coupon
comes from a different media source and has different UPC codes. The
different media sources may include coupons from a newspaper, magazine,
internet (maximum of $3 & only one accepted), bottle caps or in-store
manufacturer's exclusive coupons.
* Upon redemption of a Manufacturer's coupon, PST and or GST apply to
the full selling price of the item. Upon redemption of a Retailer Issued
coupon, PST and/or GST apply to the net amount of the item.
Coupon Acceptance the following requirements have to be been met:
* Expiry date has not been exceeded
* Is redeemable in Canada
* The product named on the coupon has been purchased.
* The size and/or flavor of the item, as stated on the coupon, have been
purchased.
* The required number of items has been purchased.
We do not allow coupon stacking on coupons that are for buy one, get one
free products, you may use coupons up to the value of the first item
only.
Any coupons you print off your computer, are considered internet coupons
and only one will be accepted.
With regards to price matching, we do not price match with on-line
pricing, we do require that the retailer be within the market area, you
have a flyer with the pertinent information from that retailer, it must
be the exact same item (model # etc) the retailer must have stock
available of the product, must not be below our cost and we will call to
verify stock. We are only required to price match one item at that
price, anything over that is at the discretion of Management.

speak to a member of Management at the time when he/she has all the
facts in front of him/her to properly answer your questions.
