Canned Pumpkin VS Home Pureed Pumpkin
E.D Smith Makes a great Pumpkin Puree... but the down part is the cost! At Thanksgiving this year I had to purchase canned, well depending on where you shop it ranged between $3-$5 per can... and each can with my recipe makes 3 pies... So even at the lowest of the prices it was $1.00 a pie, just for the pumpkin
For the cost of 1 pumpkin from Superstore... $2.47 I was able to puree enough pumpkin for 12 pies! That is just $0.21 per pie
and to top it off, other then a splash of lemon juice to help maintain its colour, I know exactly what is in it!
We have more pumpkin that will be roasted and pureed tomorrow after the night of halloweeners, So I should be good for the year now.

What are you after at London Drugs? New flyer starts Tuesday
Sadly I don't get my flyer until about noon on the day that there sale starts, but luckily someone tends to post it on Smartcanucks.ca on the Thursday or Friday the week before, and this week there are some great stacking opportunities!
Chunky Soup 3/$5.... I have some nice stacks that will enable me to pick up a dozen for just $1
Smuckers Jam $3.49 ... I have some $3 stacks for these... so for $0.50 a piece, I will stock up a bit of the kids Foodbank drive
Dove... yes dove again! Body wash and Shampoo will be on for $2.99 a bottle, and soap for $1.99
I do have a few other items on my list so far... Natural Instincts, Downy, Old Spice Body Wash and Kleenex.
I love getting a heads start in the organization when stacking as it can be rather confusing. So by the looks of it I will spend around $20 next week, but have more then I know what to do with... Foodbank and Women Shelters shall benefit that is for sure!

How do I do it?
People ask me all the time how do I get all the coupons.... So I decide to try and explain this a bit more, and hopefully it will help you understand.
1. There are 4 online sites that are good in Canada to order coupons from:
Each of these sites serve different consumer products companies...
Save.ca has been around for about 8 years, companies use them to print and distribute their coupons for them. Many of the coupons can be ordered more then one time, but they all have some sort of waiting period. Save.ca has several subsites that you should also be checking on a regular basis:

I am sure there are several I missed
Brandsaver.ca is Proctor and Gambles Coupon printing company... They offer some truly amazing coupons, but also issue these same coupon in print form via your local papers... so watch out for it also. The Next set off coupons is due to be release Nov 3rd. so keep your eye peeled for them. They also have subsites, but the only one I can think of ATM is http://brandsaver.ca/en_ca/portal/gain/
Websaver is very similar to Save.ca... you can reorder most of these coupons, but each coupon has its own reorder period... Subsite for Websaver would be: http://websaver.ca/en_ca/portal/lorealparis/
GoCoupons is a little different. They do still mail out your coupons, but they look more like "regular" coupons, and you can order them every week! they have a very limited number of coupons available, but I am sure as they grow, so will there selection.
2. Next are Internet printable coupons...
Many companies have printable coupons available to you... the scary thing is not everyone takes these, and most of the time they are a hassle! If you wish to see a list of them please refer to this thread in Smartcanucks forumhttp://forum.smartcanucks.ca/134340-official-canadian-printable-coupons-canada/
3. Several times each month on Friday, Saturday or Sunday there will be inserts in your local papers that are full of coupons these inserts are SmartSource, Redplum and P&G....So keep your eyes peeled! If you see coupons that are of great value to you... it just might be worth investing a few dollars into a copy or to of that paper! I subscribe to the National Post and The Globe and Mail (they are both free subscription) just to receive these inserts. I have attempted to find out how to get a hold of them directly from my local newspaper publishers, but all my inquiries to date have been ignored. So I will stick with the free subscriptions, and continue to do my part of kill our forests! (I do recycle all the paper, I promise!)
The one other way people obtain these inserts is Recycle bin hunting... but are you willing and able to do this... I haven't as of yet, but did see one sticking out of an overflowing bin, and you bet I grabbed it!
4. On the shelves! Check the shelves while you shop... there are coupons all over the place... End Caps, Cash Ends and stack outs are probably the best place to look. But they are often right in the aisles with the product. 95% of my coupons are located in store.
5. Magazines are also great sources of coupons... but remember the coupons have to be Canadian... so stick to Canadian publications like, Canadian Living, Homemaker, LouLou, Chatelaine to name just a few.
6. Inside Specially Market Packages.. Several coupons use these as promotional gimmicks... but honestly the coupons can be extremely valuable... Kelloggs is does some great promos.... like, $5 off Hasbro Games, right in time for Christmas... or the one that just pasted... Free Breakfast items, including juice, yogurt, banana's... General Mills current promo, is for a Free Canada long Sleeved T-shirt. And then there is McCains... in there Pizza's (specially marked of course) there are booklet containing great coupons for other McCain products.
7. But my favorite over is from trades!!! or trains! Trading with people from across Canada enables you to see several different coupons you would never see... or for those of us in the West and lucky enough to have London Drugs, different UPC's which are great for stacking. Networking is key to being successful at couponing.. join groups, post on blogs, post in forums, talk to people on FB... share and help each other out. Remember, one persons junk is another persons treasure.
I hope this helps, I have tried to touch on each area... so get out there and search for those coupons.... and start saving big! Remember if you can't use the coupon, maybe someone else can...
How I got 2 Lysol Healthy touches for nearly Free
Walmart has them on for $9.98 each... There were coupons in last weekends papers to save $5.00.... and way back in August, prior to me couponing... there was a Mail in Rebate to Buy1 Get 1 Free....
So after GST, and the coupons I was OOP $10.96.... I will then send my Mail-in Rebate form and the receipt in and get the cost of 1 + GST, so $10.48.... So in the end I got Both Systems for $0.48!!!!
So buy combining sales, coupons, store policies and Mail in Rebates, you can get so much more for Free!
Frozen MCCain Pizza's .... $3.57 each.... but over $5 worth of great coupons inside
Walmart has McCain Pizza's on for $3.97 each... So I took the flyer to Zellers and filled up the cart... but in picking my pizza's I made sure that I picked boxes with a little green sticker on them... tell me there were coupons inside! Oh and I used my SPC card... and save and additional 10% ... there fore only paying $3.57 each.
These are the amazing coupons I got, all expiring April 30, 2011... so plenty of time to find sales and match them up with these!

Glade Aerosols are on for $1 a piece... Use the Spend $15 on Glade Products, and save $10 coupon... and for just $5 you can get 15 aerosol sprays!! Enough to last you more then a year. I am not into Smellies, do to allergies, but figure I will pick up a few Linen ones, as there scent isn't to over powering.
If you are a cheese lover like all of my family, you will know that Armstrong makes darn good cheese!!
Match this special with the $1 Armstrong coupons, that might still be on the shelves and you will be paying $0.83/100g. Not quite as good as Walmarts Anniversary Price, but still well worth it.
Want Crackers to go with your cheese?
With Premium Plus Crackers being on for $1.99 a box... and the fact that somewhere out there, but they seem to be hiding from me, there are Buy2Save$2 coupons...... This works out to just $1 a box!! What a great time to stock up!
