"Mom, this is Fun!"

After a few months of gathering items for Free or Near Free prices we put together our first big box for donations!

My sons school is doing a food drive for the Veterans Food bank which has been hit extremely hard by the economic down turn.  After trying to confirm exactly what they will accept... we got the box put together.

I sent my son into the pantry and he came out with peanut butter, jam, pasta, tomatoes, soups, juices, baking supplies, canned fruit, canned veggies... you name it!  After confirming they do accept personal care items we topped up the box with shampoos, conditioners, soaps, body wash, razors, deodorant, vitamins, toothpaste...and the list goes on and on!

 My sons response to this was:  "Mom, this is Fun!"  I think he has finally learn that giving is so much better then receiving! 

Tomorrow I will help him get this 100+lb box on the bus, and we will hope that the school will help him get it off the bus, if not, he will have to haul many loads in, but he will do it with pride!
